A movie, called 'A monk's Single meal' was written and supervised by U Thu Ka,

famous writer and actor of Burma. It was directed by Maung Hnin Moe.

This film was also in English sub-titles by Dr.Khin Maung Win and Takatho Shwe Yi Win.

The movie was shown in Myanmar Television Programs (MRTV)several times especially

in Full Moon Days.

ABOUT THIS MOVIE

This movie described the Buddhist concept of rebirth,past life and

future life.It also describe the fundamental Buddhist belief that present

is the consequence of he doings of the past lives and future will be determined

by the performance of the present. It is this belief which determines the actions of

the people in this movie. I think will help the viewer to understand their actions,even

 if one may not agree with them.Here are a few points that will help the audience

to understand the message given by this movie.

ေတြကုိျပသည္။ထုိ႕ျပင္အေျခခံဗုဒၵတရားေတာ္ယုံၾကည္မူျဖစ္ေသာယခုလက္ရွိသည္အတိတ္ဘ၀

မ်ားကျပဳခဲ့ေသာေကာင္းမူမေကာင္းမူမ်ား၏အက်ိဴးဆက္ျဖစ္ကာအနာဂတ္သည္ယခုလက္ရွိျပဳေသာ

ေကာင္းမူမေကာင္းမူမ်ားကိုခံစားရလိမ့္မည္္ဆိုေသာအခ်က္္ကိုလည္းျပထားသည္။

အၾကာင္းကုိနားလည္ေပးႏုိင္ပါလိိမ့္မည္။

ေအာက္ပါအခ်က္မ်ားသည္ရုပ္ရွင္ကားကုိနားလည္ေစမည့္အကူအညီေပးပါလိမ့္မည္။

 

Attainment of  Enlightenment

 

This phrase has been used several times in the movie. It is a state of purity of

the mind,free from worldly desires, anger and ignorance. Whoever has attained

that state becomes free from the cycle of births and rebirths. Such freedom is

the ultimate goal of Buddhism.

ထုိစကားလုံးကုိရုပ္ရွင္ကားထဲတြင္ခဏခဏေတြ႕ၾကရမည္။ယင္းသည္စိတ္၏သန္႕ရွင္းမူ၊

လူ႕လုိအင္္ဆႏၵမ်ား၊ေဒါသ၊ဥပကၡာမ်ားမွလြတ္ေျမာက္ရာျဖစ္သည္။ထုိနိဗာန္ကုိရရွိျခင္းသည္

လူ႕ဘ၀သံသရာထဲမွလြတ္ေျမာက္သြားေပလိမ့္မည္။ယင္းလြတ္ေျမာက္ရာသည္ဗုဒၶဘာသာ

၏ရည္မွန္းခ်က္ျဖစ္သည္။

 

Rejoicing in the Good Deeds of Others

 

Rejoicing in the Good Deeds of Others, saying "Thadu"(Well done) is

an important part of Buddhist practice. Such rejoicing, if done in right spirit,

gives one the benefits equivalent to those enjoyed by the doer.

တျခားသူမ်ားကိုေကာင္းမူမ်ားျပဳရ၍ပီတိျဖစ္ရျခင္းျဖင့္ "သာဓု"ဟူေသာအသုံးသည္အေ၇းပါေသာ

ဗုဒၶဘာသာ၀င္တစ္ဦး၏အခန္းဂဏျဖစ္ပါသည္။ထုိပီတိသည္ေကာင္းမူကိုုျပဳသူႏွင့္ထပ္တူ

ထပ္မွ်ျဖစ္ေစေသာအက်ိဴးကုိခံစားရပါသည္။

 

Buying a Monk's Single Meal at the Cost of 12 kyats

 

Among the characters is the man who spent his three years saving, namely 12 kyats,which

he intended to use to reclaim his daughter from slaverly in order to buy a monk a single meal.

In ancient times, one kyat is equivalent to one gold piece.So, 12 kyats is equivalent to 12 gold pieces.

 

အသျပာ ၁၂ က်ပ္တန္သည့္ ရဟန္းစားရေသာဆြမ္းတစ္နပ္ကုိ၀ယ္ျခင္း

 

ဇာတ္ကားထဲကဇတ္ေကာင္တစ္ဦးျဖစ္သသည့္သူဆင္းရဲသည္ ၃ ႏွစ္တာစုေဆာင္းရခဲ့ေသာ

အသျပာ ၁၂ က်ပ္ကုိရဟန္းစားဖုိ႕ဆြမ္းတစ္နပ္ ဦးေလာဘထံမွ၀ယ္ခဲ့ပါသည္။ေရွးတုန္းက

၁ က်ပ္သည္ေရႊစတစ္စႏွင့္ညီိမွ်သည္။ဒီေတာ့ေငြအသျပာ ၁၂ က်ပ္သည္ ေရႊစ ၁၂ စ ႏွင့္

ညီမွ်သည့္တန္ဖုိးရွိပါသည္။
